Carters Transport is a family owned and operated business first established in 1996 as a partnership between David and his parents, Philip and Margaret, with 2 trucks operating from the family farm at Mooralla. Continued growth over the years has seen the business grow to 9 trucks with subcontractors used during peak times. In 2007, David and Sonya moved the business to their current location at Melville Forest.
The company has built a large and very loyal customer base by operating with a strong emphasis on meeting customer needs, providing reliable equipment, experienced personnel and completing all of our customers’ requirements on time. Our aim is to exceed customer expectations.
Carters Transport services the Western District in the cartage of wool, livestock, grain, fertilizer, lime, gypsum and general freight. We have depot facilities in Melbourne and backload from there regularly.
We have a staff of 11 employees, dedicated to customer satisfaction, safety and reliability. The employees are all family people with their children attending local schools and kindergartens, they are members of local sporting teams and many are members of the CFA, SES and Lions clubs. Our aim is to provide these staff with as much quality family time as possible. Happy family = happy staff= happy customer.
Safety is a major focus within the company and all trucks run under the Mass and Fatigue Modules of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme, the drivers are trained and accredited in these modules.
We are very focused on supporting the communities which support us and are sponsors of many associations, including cricket, football and tennis, field and game clubs, P&A Societies, Lions club, and school and kindergarten events.
